    We’ll discuss what they are, why they are commonly utilized, and any alternatives or questions you may want to ask your doctor about.

  • 3. Medical Coping Measures

    Epidurals, Nitrous Oxide, and IV Pain Medication - What even are the different medications you can use to cope with pain during birth?

    We’ll go through how they are used, the benefits and risks, and what you can expect when utilizing them.

  • 4. Non-Medical Coping Measures

    Whether you want to be prepared for an unmedicated birth or feel confident in coping with contractions leading up to the utilization of medical pain management… join us to talk about breathing techniques, partner support tools, water utilization, comb squeezing, and the many other ways to cope with discomfort during birth.

  • 5. Induction of Labor

    In the United States, 40% of labors are induced! Even if you aren’t planning to get an induction, it is important to know what to expect during a labor induction.

    This class includes questions to ask your provider to know if an induction is right for you, the different medications used, the labor interventions that typically come with induction, and what to expect during the process.

  • 6. C-sections

    The first time you learn about a c-section should NOT be when you are being wheeled to the operating room! Having time to think through the surgery and what it may feel like can help you be much more prepared in a planned or urgent c-section.

    We’ll also discuss the different options you have around a cesarean birth, and how you can personalize the experience to you and your families’ desires.

  • 7. Advocacy and Communication

    Birth is an intimidating experience for many people! There are so many interactions with the medical world, unfamiliar decisions, and new faces that will be part of the biggest day of your life.

    We’ll go through some practical advocacy tools and tips for communicating effectively with medical staff (pstt… this is a really important one for your partner too!) to help you feel confident in getting the best care for you and your baby.

  • 8. Preparing Your Body for Birth

    While the other classes focus on mental preparation, this one focuses on physically preparing for birth. We’ll go through different stretches and exercises to balance your pelvis, get baby in a good position so they are ready for their birthday, and help you reduce the risk of labor complications.
