Postpartum Doula and Childbirth Educator

Meet Elly!

Childbirth educator, registered nurse, birth and postpartum doula.

Childbirth Education to fit your needs…

  • Join us for a comprehensive, childbirth education and postpartum basics class with other families on the Bloc! This class is a two-part series for one low price; taught by Elly, our in-house childbirth educator, birth and postpartum doula, and registered nurse.

The first part of this class is an in-person, 4-hour, childbirth education course. It goes in deep to what you need to know when giving birth at the hospital, curated by our doulas mutual hands-on experience with hospital birth support.

You’ll learn about common procedures in hospital birth, the basics of labor, how to get informed consent around your choices, and tips on facilitating a smoother experience.

The second part is a virtual, 2-hour, newborn and postpartum basics class. All group class participants will be able to vote for what time works best for them for the 2-hour virtual course, and the class will be recorded and distributed as well.

This class reviews general newborn care, feeding basics, and gives you tips on preparing yourself and your relationship for the transition of welcoming a new baby.

This course comes with in-depth handouts for you to keep on hand and review when you need them.

This class is taught in-home by Elly, our in-house childbirth educator and registered nurse. The first part of this class goes in deep to what you need to know when giving birth at the hospital, curated by our doulas mutual hands-on experience with hospital birth support.

You’ll learn about common procedures in hospital birth, the basics of labor, how to get informed consent around your options, and how to facilitate a smoother experience.

Since the class is one-on-one, you can ask all your questions candidly, and take the time to focus on the birth options you are most interested in.

  • This postpartum class brings the information to you, on your schedule!

In this class, you’ll dive into newborn and postpartum basics. This class reviews general newborn care, feeding basics, and gives you tips on preparing yourself and your relationship for the transition of welcoming a new baby.

One of the benefits of doing this class in-home, is that you can get advice on how to use all the items you have on hand; such as your pump and feeding supplies, setting up systems that work for you post-baby, or how to use items like your baby carrier.

This course comes with in-depth handouts for you to keep on hand and review when you need them after baby arrives.

What is “Choose What You Pay”?

Our “Choose What You Pay Program” is exactly what it sounds like! You can pick any of our service offerings that suit your pregnancy, birth, or postpartum need; and let us know what you can reasonably pay for the service. 10% of everything we make goes into our scholarship fund. When you apply to work with us through “Choose What You Pay”, we take you on as a client if we have enough in the fund to cover the additional fees to match our prices. You are treated exactly the same as all of our full-price clients, because our doulas are still being paid exactly the same to serve you!

We never want anyone to break the bank while getting the support they need during their birth and postpartum experience. Don’t be ashamed to reach out and get the help you need to afford doula care if it’s something you are wanting to utilize during your experience.

If you want to chat more, go to our contact page and fill out the “Choose What You Pay” form!
